Entry level scheme
JSP Management has been successful in helping over 400 farmers into the Entry Level Scheme (ELS). Some have just entered their second five year term. The ELS is designed as a basic environmental scheme, a taster. It gives the farmer £30 / ha (£12 / acre) each year for the next five years. For example a 200 ha (500 ac) farm will receive £6000 per year, which amounts to £30,000 over five years.
Generally, most farmers can enter by opting for the Maintenance of Traditional farm Buildings and alternate year hedge and ditch flailing. In some cases, there may be a need to include pheasant cover, low input grass land or six metre margins. Whatever the requirement, JSP Management can offer sound advice as to the best options for your farm.
